I believe that these films exist because many people actually enjoy watching these brutal gladitorial combats. As a race, many humans enjoy the sight of one person bashing the brains out of another person. Although some people may be greatly repulsed by it, most will watch out of horrid fascination. I am somewhat more neutral in stating that the martial arts is simply a neutral tool: it is neither good nor evil. It is the person(s) that wields it that makes it for good (self-defence, health, sport) or for evil (wanton cruelity and aggressive violence). But that is only my perspective, I do not claim that it is the truth. I only wish that we humans were somewhat less bloodthirsty than we have evolved so far.
